A two-day “School of Young Scientists" was held in the White-columned Hall of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University) on October 25-26. It was organized within the framework of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation titled the “World-class Laboratory”. The head of the laboratory, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V. Meshalkin opened the meeting and told the audience about the goals of the project "Energy–resource-efficient combined waste recycling technologies of 3-5 hazard classes".
