School of young scientists 2021
A "School of Young Scientists" was held in the White-columned Hall of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University) on October 25-26. It was organized within the framework of the “World-class Laboratory” grant from the Russian Science Foundation. The meeting was opened by the head of the laboratory, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor V.P. Meshalkin, who told the audience about the goals of the project titled “Energy–resource-efficient combined waste recycling technologies of 3-5 hazard classes.”
Reports on the goals of the project were made by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Deputy General Director of JSC RSC “Applied Chemistry”, Professor V. Laskin; Doctor of Technical Sciences, General Director of NPO "Neftekhim", Professor V. Burlov; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Institute of Silicate Chemistry (IHS RAS) S.N. Perevislov, and Doctor of Technical Sciences, General Director of LLC "Provita" A. Akulov. The audience was keenly interested in the Zoom presentation on the topic of “Renewable hydrogen” by Honorary Professor of the Institute, Head of the Department of the University of Turku (Finland), Doctor of Technical Sciences D. Murzin.
The audience, most of which were undergraduates, postgraduates, young scientists, lecturers and researchers, had an excellent opportunity to learn firsthand about the current problems of the development of the chemical industry and technologies for processing a variety of man-made waste in order to reduce its negative impact on the environment.
